There were two best paper awards at IPSN 2014. They are the following:
  1. Non-invasive Respiration Rate Monitoring Using a Single COTS TX-RX Pair, Ossi Kaltiokallio (Aalto University), Huseyin Yigitler (Aalto University), Riku Jäntti (Aalto University), Neal Patwari (University of Utah)
  2. Lightweight Map Matching for Indoor Localisation Using Conditional Random Fields, Zhuoling Xiao (University of Oxford), Hongkai Wen (University of Oxford), Andrew Markham (University of Oxford), Niki, Trigoni (University of Oxford)
We look forward to seeing you again in 2015 at Seattle, WA USA.

The International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) is a leading, single-track, annual forum on research in networked sensing and control, broadly defined. IPSN brings together researchers from academia, industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image processing, information and coding theory, databases and information management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless communications, collaborative objects and the internet of things, machine learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of special interest are contributions at the confluence of a multiple of these areas. The conference features two interleaving tracks, the Information Processing (IP) track, and the Sensor Platforms, Tools and Design Methods (SPOTS) track. We also encourage submissions on innovative applications of sensor network to real world problems.

IPSN is part of CPS Week, co-locating with conferences HSCC, ICCPS, IPSN, RTAS, and HiCoNS.

New this year is an indoor localization competition co-located with IPSN 2014. Accurate indoor localization has the potential to transform the way people navigate indoors in a similar way that GPS transformed the way people navigate outdoors. Over the last 15 years, several indoor localization technologies have been proposed and experimented by both academia and industry, but we have yet to see large scale deployments. This competition aims to bring together real-time or near real-time indoor location technologies and compare their performance in the same space.
